Meet Dr. Valerie Barber
Valerie Barber, O.D, received her Doctor of Optometry from the University of Missouri-Saint Louis in 1995. She earned her Bachelor of Science in Biology from Southern Illinois University Edwardsville in 1992.
Dr. Barber grew up in Madison County, Illinois, and now resides in Edwardsville's historic Leclaire district, where she enjoys being an active member of her community. Passionate about patient-centric care, Dr. Barber is dedicated to helping her patients achieve their best vision. She finds joy in performing kindergarten eye exams and fitting first-time contact lens wearers, calling it the “best job ever.” Her love for physics, the human eye, and connecting with people makes optometry a natural fit for her.
